Before & After
Here is a quick look into the process of making the archive possible.
After scanning the pages with the text all over the images, I had to use Photoshop to try to repair the image without making it look too "shopped."
This is a little harder when the writing is over a person's face, but it can sometimes be done if there is enough good image to work with.
Some of these are not perfect, for various reasons, but I try to do my best with what I have to work with.
Enjoy!

BeforeThe image above was probably the hardest image repair I had tried to do. As you can see, the signatures run right through several background images, especially the one on the lower left-hand corner.

AfterThis is the end result, not perfect, but not bad considering, in my opinion. I had to resort to downloading a copy of the Declaration of Independence to replace much of the text that was lost from the signature removal. The background image of the tall ships was by far the hardest to try to re-create, luckily the text stands n front of it covering some of the finer details.

As you can see with the pages above, none of the writing went over the faces of the "real" people, so this was not too hard to fix.
Below is another example but was quite difficult to fix. You can still see some weirdness to it, but not too bad considering the before image. Check it out...

If you look closely to the two images above, I had to completely reconstruct her necklace line and left shoulder. It's a little smudgy, but came out okay, when you take in consideration what I had to work with and the quality of the original image.

Here are a couple of examples of some simple photoshopping to make the images look better then what was actually there. The before is one the right and the after is one the left.
